As a result of Capgemini’s continued success there is the opportunity to join the global Commercial Contract Management team supporting the Netherlands. The team is responsible for providing commercial and contract management support for all business undertaken from Capgemini in the Netherlands and you will be in a key position to support the continued growth of our business. You will be providing expert and pragmatic commercial support to our teams and working with our clients to contract new or extended business.

Your job in one paragraph

Working with a variety of stakeholders such as Engagement Managers, Account Managers, Sales Managers, Solution Architects, Legal Counsels, and Finance Controllers, the Commercial Contract Manager will help ensure that risks and commercial best practices are considered throughout the sales cycle and applied end-to-end during the service delivery. The key areas of responsibility are:

  • Pre-sales commercial support to shape and sign a deal in a manner that the services can be delivered according to the contract
  • Support contract compliance and optimization in the delivery phase

 The Commercial Contract Manager will be responsible for promoting commercial best practices throughout the life of a client engagement to drive value for our clients and Capgemini. You will be the CCM for key accounts facilitating both the sales and delivery management regarding commercial contract matters. You will be supporting for reviewing Capgemini’s compliance with the contract, providing advice on commercial and contractual matters to the account, sales and delivery teams and applying our commercial best practice in the accounts as agreed with the Account Team.

As the Commercial Contract Manager, you will:

  • Be a member of a bid team and/or an account team, taking a key role in the ongoing development of commercial and contractual matters
  • Support of large and complex sales opportunities (Bids, RFPs, RFQs) from commercial contract point of view
  • Facilitate commercial management best practices are implemented within the bids or accounts
  • Act as the single point of contact (both internally and for the client) for all commercial matters as necessary and as agreed with the Account Team
  • Engage across multiple engagements in sales and/or in delivery phase as commercial contract manager
  • Assist with contracting subcos or alliance partners
  • Participate in and/or lead senior level negotiations with both internal and external customers for commercial contract matters
  • Assist in shaping commercial propositions to support the selling of additional offerings to meet our clients’ requirements
  • Inform the delivery team about the contractual obligations and provides advice and guidance to the account and delivery teams on all matters relating to the contract.
  • Proactively suggests options to drive out costs and to increase revenue and margin
  • Assist Engagement Managers and Delivery Managers in solving potential disputes in the day-to-day operations at operational/tactical level

Why this job is a good fit for you?

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial contract management for large and complex contracts/accounts or similar experience as an engagement manager or equivalent.
  • Detailed understanding of key legal, commercial principles and obligations found in IT services or outsourcing contracts.
  • Excellent client facing skills with the ability to negotiate and to cope in difficult situations at senior level.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to think laterally.
  • Excellent communication skills and willing to build good and sustainable relationships.
  • Track record of dealing with complex contract issues.
  • Broad experience of IT sales and service delivery.
  • Contract drafting skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong numeracy and understanding of finances.
